Birds of prey & other bird portraits
Birds: some are majestic creatures of the sky, some light up our lives with companionship. However, their populations have become more and more vulnerable in recent years. According to the IUCN, 14% of bird species are threatened with extinction. Habitat destruction is a major factor, as is hunting. The bird portraits on this page feature birds who are vulnerable to different degrees – check out the IUCN Red List for more information on each one.
